The International Agri-Food Network is looking for a consultant to develop a series of global case studies documenting the real-life impact of missing maximum residue limits (MRLs) on farmers and the larger value chain. Specifically, the case studies will document the negative impact missing MRLs have on farmers’ ability to both produce sustainable food and access world agricultural markets.
The Codex Coalition’s initial outreach highlighted a need to build better awareness with FAO and Codex officials, technical experts and member countries on why new approaches to setting MRLs are required and the consequences of status quo. Decision makers don’t always see the immediate case for change, or understand the impact missing MRLs or delays at the global level have on food production and global trade. They need to be provided with a compelling reason to step up and assume leadership positions.
Deadline for application is July 30, 2017.
Deadine for work to be completed is September 30, 2017.
